- 450 grams unrefined shea butter
- 110 grams unrefined cocoa butter
- 1/4 C avocado oil
Place the cocoa butter in a glass jar and put this jar into a pot filled with water until it reaches 3/4 of the way up the jar. Do not get water in the mixture as this can cause it to spoil. Heat the water on a medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the cocoa butter has melted.
Add the shea butter to the blender and pulse until the butter breaks down.
Drizzle the avocado oil over the shea butter while keeping the blender pulsing.
Drizzle the melted cocoa butter over this mixture, and blend until well combined.
Spoon the mixture into sterilised jars or containers and leave to set in the fridge.
This body butter will keep for a long time due to the long shelf life of the cocoa butter (1-2 years). You may store it in the fridge for a harder butter or at room temperature for a softer butter.
