Pros: light moisturisation for oily skin, relieves inflamed/eczema prone skin, long shelf life
Cons: Not moisturising enough during winter for dry/flaky skin, takes some time to absorb into skin
Apricot oil is pressed from the kernel seeds of the apricot fruit. It’s high in vitamin E and is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin.
I use pure apricot kernel seed oil purchased from online auction websites. It’s a relatively cheap oil to purchase in larger quantities.
This oil is great for combination skin in particular. It’s light enough for oily skin during summer, and it’s very relieving for inflamed skin too. I did find that due to its lightness it wasn’t ideal for dry skin during winter. Due to the high vitamin E content it also appears to lighten the skin and help soften the appearance of scars.
It has a shelf life of about 1 ½ - 2 years.and can be kept in any environment.
