Pros: Generous colour and conditioner provided, liquid form is easy to apply, natural looking tones with true to advertised colour, affordable
Cons: Fades fairly quickly, strong chemical smell when applying, contains hydrogen peroxide
This is the colour I keep going back to since bleaching my hair. It gives a natural multi-tone colour, true to the photo advertised on the top of the box. On my yellow bleached hair the ash works to neutralise the yellow pigments, bringing it down to a golden dark blonde-light brown colour. The highlights I have peek through which is nicer than the block colour you usually get with box dyes. It leaves your hair in good condition, but as it contains hydrogen peroxide to lift and deposit the colour do be warned that any hair darker than light brown is at risk of bleaching to an orange tone. There was more than enough dye for my just below shoulder length hair. In fact this could be divided in half for a second application (just don't mix the peroxide with the colour when storing the remainder). A generous tube of weekly conditioning treatment is also supplied.
This dye doesn't appear to be very resistant to fading. I've found Clairol's colours tend to fade within two weeks - ideal if the colour you've applied is too dark to start with. If you're after a long-lasting permanent colour I wouldn't recommend this brand. But if you want a natural ashy blonde to tone hair this is the best I've come across.
